Hi, and welcome to my teaching profile :) Main subjects and instruments include electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic guitar, ukulele, cajon, drumkit, music theory, improvisation, percussion, aural skills (ear training), eurythmics (internalizing rhythm), sight-reading, classical guitar and flamenco guitar. Lessons are fun, engaging, and educational.

I am a professional acting teacher and coach with over 26 years of experience mentoring performers of all levels. I began acting at age eight and trained classically under legendary acting teacher and director Gerald Freedman, as well as other distinguished mentors at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where I earned a BFA in Acting and Drama.

Rhys Lovell is a theatre artist whose work has been seen throughout Central Illinois for the past 35 years. As an actor, he has appeared in dozens of productions at Heartland Theatre Company, Prairie Fire Theatre, the Illinois Shakespeare Festival, and the Evergreen Cemetery Walk, which he directed for six years.

About Me I have spent fifteen years doing one thing: helping young people find their voice — on stage, in the classroom, and in life. I hold a BA in Theatre Arts and Early Childhood Education from UC Santa Cruz, which means I was literally trained to do exactly this. Teaching theatre to kids is not something I fell into. It is what I was built for.
