I have been playing trumpet for over 17 years and specialize in teaching advanced technique, improvisation, and music theory. My first love will always be jazz, but I also enjoy playing pop, R&B/soul, and classical trumpet pieces.

For over 30 years, I’ve taken elementary through high school students to proven success through first-place or first-chair achievements in state and region bands, solo and ensemble contests, and acceptance to music conservatories through classroom teaching and private lessons, both online and in-person, focused on brass and woodwind instruments.

As a passionate educator and an advocate of community engagement, Connor Thummel has taught privately and co-founded ensembles across the country. Before arriving in Boston, Mr. Thummel co-directed and performed with Benefit Brass, a Chicago-based non-profit brass ensemble that organized benefit concerts for charities.
