Sarah Schira is known for #NeverNotGnoming but when she’s not knitting gnomes, she’s designing knitting patterns for everyday adventures. She loves to design accessories that look harder than they are, and that make you look great. She and her husband live in Manitoba, Canada, where they’ve raised their two kids to adulthood.

Betty Ann Winters is a fiber artist working primarily in Nuno felting. At times she incorporates stitching and weaving to make one-of-a-kind pieces of art made of fine wools, silks, and assorted fibers, often using vintage and upcycled fabrics. She is a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild and Local Cloth in Asheville, NC.

Chris Aslan was born in Turkey and was raised there and in war-torn Beirut. After school, he spent two years at sea, and then lived in Central Asia for 15 years. First, was Khiva, a desert oasis in Uzbekistan, where Chris established a UNESCO workshop reviving fifteenth century carpet designs and embroideries, and becoming the largest non-government employer in town.

Roxie Fricton is an Atlanta-based textile artist whose work explores the intersection of history, identity, and women’s lived experiences. Through handweaving, she connects past and present, reinterpreting traditional woven drafts by combining research and pattern manipulation to uncover hidden narratives and reframe their meanings.

Roy grew up working in his family’s woodshop and has made fiber art equipment for most of his life. He frequently write for PLY Magazine and is the president of Lambtown Festival, the largest sheep and wool show in California. Martha Owen is an artisan/shepherd and resident artist at the John C Campbell Folkschool (www.folkschool.org) in Brasstown, NC. She oversees classes in spinning/knitting,crochet/feltmaking /surface design and dyeing. Her adventure in spinning began here in 1978.

Beth has been knitting for over 20 years and is a Level 2 Certified Knitting Instructor. She teaches classes through the Apex recreation department where she loves helping new knitters get started and feel confident with the basics.

Geri creates mixed media art from her studio in Tennessee, teaches internationally, and her winning art is in museum collections. She was awarded an Appalachian Craft and Culture Fellowship at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts and has taught at John Campbell Folk School for 19 years.
