This was my fourth lesson with Esther Howard. So far she is great about going at my pace and making sure I have all my questions and concerns addressed. She makes great use of the 30 minutes lessons and gives manageable homework for what I have going on in my life right now. If she notices that you are struggling with something in particular she will slow things down and let you spend more time where needed. If you were on the fence about taking lessons from Ester...Don't be!! Shes great!
I had my first lesson back after taking a few in person lessons with cello. I am so excited to learn with Debra. She is patient and encouraging.
Emily is an excellent teacher, the lessons are very well organised and she pays very close attention to technique. At the end of the session, she supplies a very detailed summary of the points covered. I feel that I have made very significant progress within 3 the 3 weeks since I began lessons. Highly recommended.
I had my first cello lesson and came away feeling very encouraged. Mrs. Woodworth was incredibly patient, supportive, and easy to learn from. When she noticed that the pace felt a little too fast for me, she was very understanding and adjusted her teaching to make sure I felt comfortable and confident. I especially appreciated that she provided several practice options for me to choose from, along with follow-up materials to work on between lessons. She introduced new concepts in a way that was easy to understand and made learning feel approachable rather than overwhelming. Overall, it was a very positive experience, and I'm looking forward to continuing my cello journey with her. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging teacher.
I've only had a couple of lessons with Shona so far, but I'm already very happy with my decision to study with her. She is an excellent teacher who combines strong technical knowledge with a very student-focused approach. She took the time to understand my musical interests, current abilities, and long-term goals, and is already helping me put together a clear and motivating learning plan. The lessons are relaxed and enjoyable, while still providing plenty of constructive feedback and practical exercises to work on between sessions. I particularly appreciate how she adapts the material to my interests and explains things in a clear and encouraging way. Shona is patient, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping her students progress. I look forward to continuing lessons with her and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, adaptable, and professional bass teacher.

What is Lessonface?
How do online Strings lessons work?
What is the best method for learning Strings ?
We're biased, of course, but at Lessonface we believe the best way to learn Strings is through one-on-one lessons. Personalized instruction means your teacher can tailor every lesson to your goals, learning style, and skill level. Online group classes can also be a great way to make learning fun and social. Learning Strings online makes it easy to stay consistent, which is essential to steady progress.
There are plenty of apps and YouTube videos out there to help with learning Strings, but most teachers agree that those resources work best as supplements to, not replacements for, one-on-one instruction. A skilled Strings teacher can identify bad habits before they become ingrained, help you focus on what matters most, and solve problems as soon as they arise, often saving you months of frustration and wasted practice time. The bottom line? A real teacher accelerates your progress and keeps you on the right path from day one.
