My daughter took violin lessons from Tera for four years. She started as a high school freshman new to the instrument and ended as an experienced lead in her HS orchestra. Tera was the perfect instructor helping her learn the basics all the way through her challenging pieces senior year. Tera did an amazing job teaching remotely. She was very knowledgeable in her craft and often went above and beyond providing additional resources and musical suggestions. Not only was she extremely knowledgeable in all things musical, but her passion for music came through in every lesson! I would highly recommend Tera for any musical lessons in the future.
Diany is a great teacher. Patient, kind in her critiques, and also has great attention to detail. She is flexible in her approach-- if you want to address your foundation and don't mind repetition, she will guide you. If you want to have more fun and experiment, she will guide you in that too. Glad to be studying with her as my teacher!
I had my first lesson back after taking a few in person lessons with cello. I am so excited to learn with Debra. She is patient and encouraging.
Etelka is an amazing teacher! My 15-year-old son recently started learning the violin with zero prior music knowledge, and she has made the entire process so fun and engaging for him. She has a wonderful, easy-going personality that makes lessons something to look forward to. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all the options out there like I was, look no further—you truly can’t go wrong with Etelka Nyilasi!
I’ve been working with Garrett Fischbach for over one year now, and highly recommend him. I’m an adult intermediate-level violin student, and I continue to be very pleased with my progress. As noted in my previous review, what sets Garrett apart is his ability and willingness to troubleshoot my technical issues, and create a personalized plan to help me overcome them. He is also very patient, and does not give up until we find a productive way to tackle a problem, often breaking complex skills into smaller components that, once learned, make daunting techniques much more attainable. We’re now working on a piece that I love, but wasn’t sure I’d ever be able to play—I’m thrilled to be making steady progress, and with Garrett’s help, I am enjoying my lessons and practice more than ever.

What is Lessonface?
How do online Strings lessons work?
What is the best method for learning Strings ?
We're biased, of course, but at Lessonface we believe the best way to learn Strings is through one-on-one lessons. Personalized instruction means your teacher can tailor every lesson to your goals, learning style, and skill level. Online group classes can also be a great way to make learning fun and social. Learning Strings online makes it easy to stay consistent, which is essential to steady progress.
There are plenty of apps and YouTube videos out there to help with learning Strings, but most teachers agree that those resources work best as supplements to, not replacements for, one-on-one instruction. A skilled Strings teacher can identify bad habits before they become ingrained, help you focus on what matters most, and solve problems as soon as they arise, often saving you months of frustration and wasted practice time. The bottom line? A real teacher accelerates your progress and keeps you on the right path from day one.
