Are you ready to embark on a rhythmic journey into the world of drumming? Join our "Introduction to Drum Set" class, designed especially for total beginners, and unlock the power of drums from the comfort of your home. Gain confidence in your playing and unlock the techniques and building blocks from which drumming is built.
You will explore the fundamental aspects of drumming and develop a solid foundation in playing the drum set. You’ll be guided step by step, ensuring you gain the skills necessary to express yourself through the beats and rhythms.
The capacity for this class is 15 students.
Class Goals
- 1. Drum Kit Basics: Get acquainted with the different components of a drum set, from the snare drum to the cymbals, and understand how they work together to create music.
- 2. Proper Technique: Learn the correct hand and foot techniques to produce clean and precise drumming sounds.
- 3. Rhythmic Patterns: Master essential drumming patterns and rhythms, including popular styles like rock, pop, and jazz.
- 4. Coordination: Develop your hand-eye-foot coordination to effortlessly play various drumming patterns.
- 5. Drumming Notation: Familiarize yourself with basic drumming notation and learn to read drum music.
- 6. Groove Creation: Discover the art of creating groovy beats and jamming along with your favorite songs.

The class will meet for two weekly 60-min live online sessions on Saturdays at 1 pm ET | 10 am PT | 17:00 UTC on the schedule below. The first session is on January 13.

Lindsay Artkop
Lindsay graduated from Berklee College of Music in May 2016 with a B.A in Professional Music, and was a featured drummer in the annual commencement ceremony concert. While at Berklee, she concentrated on Drum Set Performance and Music Business. Her education also strengthened her skills in Music Theory, Harmony, Ear Training and Songwriting.
