How to Teach Mariachi Music

About How to Teach Mariachi Music

Learn the format and structure of a Mariachi music program from Dr. Dahlia Guerra. For almost 40 years, Guerra has worked at UTRGV and legacy institution UT Pan American, becoming a key figure in public arts, including co-directing the award-winning UTRGV Mariachi Aztlan, and as founder of the annual literacy and arts program, FESTIBA. Dr. Guerra will talk about the development of the UTPA/UTRGV mariachi program and answer questions about how the program evolved to what it is today, touching on the benefits of teaching this beautiful genre of music.

This session is sponsored by KHS America.
