Save That Fleece! Common Fleece Flaws & How to Fix Them with Kate Larson
About Save That Fleece! Common Fleece Flaws & How to Fix Them with Kate Larson
If you are keen to work from sheep to shawl—starting with raw wool and working through to a finished textile—there is always the chance that you’ll purchase a lemon of a fleece. Sometimes we buy a fleece that looks great at the show and turns out to have a significant break in one area, or you might have brought home a free scratch-and-dent fleece on a whim. Join Kate, who has been a shepherd for most of her life, as she walks you through diagnosing the problem fleece, methods for fixing a flawed fleece, and knowing how best to use the prepared fiber. For this workshop’s kit, Kate has selected a group of fixer-upper fleeces that can be made into beautifully prepared spinning fibers with only a pair of handcards.
