About Stranded Colorwork Knitting – Deep Dive
The class is designed for the knitter who has found the joys of stranded colorwork knitting, but after working stranded and Fair Isle patterns, still have some questions. Is there anything else I can do with this technique? Is there a way to add texture as well as color? What is yarn dominance and how can I avoid it? How do I get rid of long floats in the back? This class will answer these questions and more using a discussion format that covers over 20 topics related to stranded colorwork knitting. Students should bring yarn and needles to help further explore the solutions to these deep dive questions.
The capacity for this class is 12 students.
Materials, Equipment, and Supplies the Student Must Bring to Class
Yarn: DK weight yarn. Solid or tonal colors. No novelty. yarns.
Shade A: Main 260 yds/240 m (blue in original)
Shade B: Contrasting Color 135 yds/125 m (green in original)
Shade C: Accent 55 yds/ 50 m (gold in original)
Needles: US 2 (2.75mm) 24 in circular needle and US 4 (3.5mm) 24 in circular needle or size needed for gauge.
Stitch markers.

Varian Brandon
Varian Brandon started knitting at age eight. A trip to the islands of Great Britain rekindled a love of color and created an interest in the traditions of Fair Isle design and construction. She is currently designing stranded colorwork patterns for several yarn companies, as well as her own website.
