Understanding Fiber Blends (B)

About Understanding Fiber Blends (B)

Interested in spinning or preparing your own fiber blends but not sure how including different accessory fibers will affect the primary fiber? In this workshop, we will start with spinning Polwarth wool top and then explore a variety of variations of blends that combine Polwarth wool with other fibers such as different types of silk, luxury down fibers and even a bast fiber! We will discuss the characteristics of common fibers found in blends such as silks, viscose, and camelids. By spinning this assortment of blends, you’ll better understand how these fibers interact in blends and be ready to try new blends and create your own!
