Beat Songwriter’s Block: Identify Your Rut, Choose the Next Move
About Beat Songwriter’s Block: Identify Your Rut, Choose the Next Move
Stuck at the blank page or stalled mid-draft? In this 60-minute, hands-on session you’ll identify the nature of your rut, understand why it happens, and choose a simple next move to get writing again—no music reading required.
We’ll name common ruts (blank page, mid-song stall, “everything sounds the same,” inner-critic loop) and connect each to likely causes. Then we’ll try quick, practical cures drawn from three channels: Story (setting, message, arc), Music (melody, harmony, groove/tempo), and Lyrics (images, phrasing, rhyme). You’ll leave with one small win on your current idea and a clear next step.
Suggested materials: notebook or doc, your voice and optional instrument, a phone to capture ideas, a quiet space, and a stable internet connection.
