Deciphering Crochet & Knitting Patterns, Charts, & Stitch Diagrams

About Deciphering Crochet & Knitting Patterns, Charts, & Stitch Diagrams

Knitting and crochet patterns are a kind of code, full of abbreviations, technical terminology, and charts or diagrams full of squiggly looking symbols. Learning to read stitch charts and diagrams can open up a world of patterns, since they are a universal way to show instructions, and for many people they’re easier to follow than written instructions, once you get started. Learn the basic symbols, a few things that patterns don’t always say, and tips for keeping track of your work. You'll also leave knowing how to spot red flags that a pattern isn't well written, a real time and money saver!
