About Spinning for Lace
Have you ever seen a lace shawl and wished that you could spin yarn that fine? In this class, you’ll learn techniques that will have you spinning fine yarns in no time at all! We will cover some of the different elements that can determine the characteristics of your yarn, including wheel set-up, drafting technique, ply, etc. We’ll also work with various fibers that we can use for spinning lace weight yarns, ranging from fine alpaca to some heavier wools that might surprise you!
The capacity for this class is 20 students.

Note taking supplies, a spindle or a spinning wheel in good working order, extra bobbins, lazy kate, and a niddy noddy.

What skills or knowledge do students need to take this workshop?
Intermediate – Can spin a single and ply. Students should be able to spin a stable, continuous yarn.

Terri began spinning in 2004 and quickly developed a passion for her hobby. From the beginning, she has demonstrated spinning and other fiber arts in a variety of different settings, (from living history events, schools, farm days, and fairs to local yarn shops, guilds [spinning and quilting], etc.) and is always happy to share her knowledge.
