About Baltic Inkle Weaving

De-mystify the Baltic Pick-up technique! this technique allows the student to create complex designs in Scandinavian and Lithuanian bands.These warp faced bands can be used as belts, trim on garments and handles on bags and clutches.

The capacity for this class is 8 students.


Materials, Equipment, and Supplies the Student Must Bring to Class

Student should bring paper and pencils for note taking. Personal inkle looms are encouraged but loaner inkle looms will be available.


Materials Fee and Description

Your class registration fee includes materials with a value of $20 consisting of:

Material fee covers all string, the use of basic weaving supplies and handouts. Loaner inkle looms will be available but the student is encouraged to bring their own if possible.


Pre-class Homework

No homework prior to class.

Age Range

Minimum age requirement for workshop: 16

Skill Level

Advanced beginner (some experience)

What skills or knowledge do students need to take this workshop?
The student should be able to read and follow a basic threading draft.

Barbara's love for weaving started at an early age. Her Grandmother gave her her first loom, a piece of cardboard with slots at each end. She was hooked. Barbara is a graduate of Bowling Green State University with a BA/ Art Education. She taught Elementary Art for 28 years.
