About Holding Yarns in Two Hands for Stranded Colorwork Knitting
This class is for the knitter who has always wanted to learn how to carry yarns in two hands when knitting Colorwork/Fair Isle designs. This 2-hour class will take the mystery out of this traditional way to manage your yarns for stranded colorwork knitting. Holding yarns in two hands also helps keep your yarns from twisting so you will not lose time straightening everything out. Evening out your tension, as well as catching long floats will also be discussed.
The capacity for this class is 12 students.
Materials, Equipment, and Supplies the Student Must Bring to Class
2 colors...one light , one dark of worsted or DK weight yarn...solid color, no novelty
2-24" circular needles OR 1-32" circular needle OR 1–16” circular needles OR 1 set double pointed needles in appropriate size for yarn selected.

Pre-class Homework
Cast on 80 sts with the lighter color yarn. Join to knit in round. Place a marker to indicate start of round.
Knit 3 rounds.

Varian Brandon
Varian Brandon started knitting at age eight. A trip to the islands of Great Britain rekindled a love of color and created an interest in the traditions of Fair Isle design and construction. She is currently designing stranded colorwork patterns for several yarn companies, as well as her own website.
