Understanding Blends with Jill Duarte
About Understanding Blends with Jill Duarte
Interested in spinning or preparing your own fiber blends but not sure how including different accessory fibers will affect the primary fiber? In this workshop, we will start with spinning Polwarth wool top and then explore a variety of variations of blends that combine Polwarth wool with other fibers such as different types of silk, luxury down fibers and even a bast fiber! We will discuss the characteristics of common fibers found in blends and how they interact with wools, as well as understanding the role of ratios when developing our own blends.
