Painting with Wool Needle Felting - Scandinavian Floral Design: Inspired by Rosemaling
Painting with Wool Needle Felting - Scandinavian Floral Design: Inspired by Rosemaling with Laura Berlage
Explore the world of creating beautiful images using needle felting techniques! This class in two sessions will demonstrate not only how to make a wide variety of shapes but also how to feather colors together for shading. The design is inspired by Telemark style rosemaling from Norway and is a great way to celebrate the flowers of summertime.
While previous experience in needle felting is helpful in this class, beginners are welcome.

The project kit
This small group class is presented in collaboration with John C. Campbell Folk School and Lessonface. Participants should enroll at least two weeks before start to ensure materials kits arrive in time. If registering after this point, your kit may arrive after the first session. Students are invited to attend an optional Orientation and Closing Ceremony to connect with various online Folk School classes.

Class Materials
Your class registration fee includes a materials kit with a value of $43 shipped to your door. Residents outside the USA will pay the difference in shipping.
The kit includes:
• Craft felt backing, marked with the design
• Colorful, hand-dyed wool roving from the instructor’s sheep
• 2 38-gauge felting needles
• Access to pre-recorded video tutorials
Students will also want to provide:
• 8-inch embroidery hoop
• Foam work pad. Recommend 2 inch high density upholstery foam or a needle felting pad (though a folded up old towel can work in a pinch). This is to protect the table and the needle while you work.
• Good lighting
• If you like using handles on your felting needles or finishing tools, you can use these too, but they are not mandatory.
