Yoga for Musicians, Artists & Dancers
Yoga for Musicians, Artists & Dancers with Beth Ross Johnson
Musicians, artists, and dancers can develop tension in areas of the body that are overused, underused, or abused. The practice of yoga can help release physical tension in order to prevent injury and help with focus and concentration. Yoga can also ease stress having to do with performance, production, and creativity. Each of the four sessions will consist of a short yoga practice (with special attention paid to hands and feet), and time to discuss individual practice. This class will be most beneficial to those who have had some experience with yoga. Students should have their doctor’s approval to practice yoga and should be able to get on and off the floor unassisted.
The capacity for this class is 12 students. This class is presented in collaboration with the John C. Campbell Folk School. There will be an optional Orientation and Closing Ceremony hosted from the Folk School campus that students can attend online.
