This course will break down the characteristics of a few legendary licks.
Where do I start?
Learn the essential elements of lead licks and how to use them strategically.
Understand what you are soloing “over” (knowing the chord progression, how to find the key of a song, how to listen to your rhythm section, etc).
Don't just “go through the motions!”
Learn how to practice in a way that produces results.
Workshop will include downloadable handouts on the material.

Since 2002, Emily has played music professionally as a solo artist, band member, composer, session musician, and hired touring musician in genres including rock, blues, country, r&b, folk, and metal. While obtaining her Bachelor's Degree, she studied jazz and classical music.
Emily has been teaching since 2008. She loves to help students of all skill levels develop their style, musicianship, and creativity. Whether you're a seasoned picker just brushing up, or you're a total beginner, Emily will get you started on your musical journey.

WHEN
This class will meet for four live sessions on Fridays at 10/18, 10/25, 11/1, 11/8, from 8 pm EST / 7 pm CST / 6 pm MST / 5 pm PST.
HOW IT WORKS
Students can connect to the online platform using a tablet or computer with reliable internet. To actively participate online students also need a webcam with microphone. The live sessions are recorded so that all enrolled students can review the class sessions following the live class. Class recordings will be available for viewing within 48 hours of the live class. Emily will provide handouts and backing tracks. This live online class is capped at 8 students.
