Intro to Creative Mending: Needle Weaving

About Intro to Creative Mending: Needle Weaving

Extend the life of well-loved clothes using basic darning techniques! Whether your vintage sweater has a snag or your favorite socks are getting worn out, you’ll learn skills to mend, darn, and patch all sorts of items with ease. Class will start out with a hands-on overview of basic darning before branching out into individual mending projects. Have some of your own items in need of mending ready for the camera and we'll go over how to fix them. Instructor Riley Kleve has seen it all- - from tiny moth holes in sweaters to snags and snarls of all sizes. They'll have an assortment of similar mends ready to demonstrate fixing using a variety of techniques. You’ll leave class ready to take on mending projects big and small!

Materials kits include fabric, darning disc and rubber band, yarn, darning needle, needle threader, and printed version of the class handout.

The capacity for this class is 25 students.
