Understanding and Designing Huck Lace
About Understanding and Designing Huck Lace
We'll cover the fundamentals of threading, tie ups and treadling using four shaft Huck Lace, then transition into designing six blocks using eight shafts with Huck Lace's unique plus/minus template. I'll demonstrate how a Huck Lace motif can be implemented to create pattern across cloth. Weavers with drafting software are welcome to bring their computers along to play!
I provide a detailed pdf booklet to follow along in class and for weavers to keep in their weaving libraries. I charge $20 per participant, to be paid prior to the class.
Initially, I would like to do a two hour class, then a one hour follow-up class for weavers to discuss and share what they have designed per the first two hour class.
The capacity for this class is 25 students.

Jill Staubitz
I fell in love with weaving about ten years ago, when I retired from my career in graphic design. The two disciplines overlap perfectly through my love for color, pattern, and the design process. I became an artisan at the Hartford Artisans Weaving Center and began teaching as well as weaving my own creations.
