Weave Motifs Using an Overshot Technique

About Weave Motifs Using an Overshot Technique

Looking for something fun to weave? Know about overshot, but have not tried it? Are you ready to weave with two shuttles? Join me as I share a few of my patterns, how they can be woven, and a look at how I and why I started designing these. You will have the opportunity to weave a few inches using the overshot technique for a few of the patterns. In addition you will be given information to help you design your own patterns.

You will have three options -
Option 1 - warp and weave along, four towels (20" weaving width, 4 1/2 yard warp);
Option 2 - warp and weave along, using a narrower warp for smaller towels or table runners; \
Option 3 - Warp and weave after the class is over. If you plan on weaving along your looms need to be warped before class.
The instructions provided by the instructor after you enroll.

The capacity for this class is 25 students.

Class Materials

Students will want to provide:
8-shaft jack loom - table or floor. The patterns are written for a 20 inch weaving width.

All patterns can be adapted for a narrower width. You can choose to do a small sampler of these patterns or weave 4 towels. Below is the amount of yarn needed if you want to prepare a warp to weave 4 towels with borders at both ends.
Warp yarn: 8/2 unmercerized cotton (Approximately 1800 yards for a 4 1/2 yard warp. Color of your choosing)
Weft yarn: 8/2 unmercerized cotton (Approximately 1600 yards - same color as the warp.)
10/2 or 20/2 cotton - same color as 8/2 warp and weft yarn
Pattern Yarns: 3/2 mercerized Perle cotton (approximately 100 yards of each color. You could use 5/2 doubled) - white, black, yellow, dark green
3 shuttles
