Angels we have Heard on High! Angel Ornaments
Angels we have Heard on High! Angel Ornaments with Margaret Willingham
We’ll make an angel ornament to fly on your tree this holiday season and learn how to apply our easy, 4-step technique!
Reverse appliqué gives an elegant, dimensional look using just two fabrics. The angel design is created in the background fabric peeking out of the top fabric. You can also choose to add appliqued wings and halo with a 3rd fabric. Whatever you decide, it will be beautiful and you will use the same technique.
Be empowered to hand stitch your Angel Ornament. Learn the quick and easy steps of Eye of the Beholder’s Trace! Baste! Snip! & Stitch! process and get pointers on how to hand needle-turn reverse applique and get crisp points, inside corners without frays, and graceful curves.
Finally, we’ll look at how to quilt and finish the ornament so it’s ready for hanging and gift giving. It’s so fun and easy to make these Angel ornaments.
This workshop will be taught by pattern designer, Margaret Brewster Willingham, of Eye of the Beholder Quilt Designs. Margaret is also a published author and international teacher.
This small group class is presented in collaboration with John C. Campbell Folk School and Lessonface. Students are invited to attend an optional Orientation and Closing Ceremony to connect with various online Folk School classes.

“I see quilts as transcriptions of the world around us – in my work I am inspired by the functional elegance of Victorian architecture, from iron grates to grand facades, as well as the natural beauty of creation. In my designs, I want to enable you to bring this beauty and elegance to your own home to create a sense of welcome and hospitality for the people you love.
