Are You a Rising Star?

rising starLessonface connects music students with great teachers for live, online lessons. At the end of summer 2017, we are awarding semesters of lessons, valued at $500 each, to five promising young musicians, ages 9-17. To enter the competition to receive a semester of lessons -- with your choice of the excellent, highly qualified teacher(s) available for one-on-one lessons on Lessonface -- create a video performing an original or public domain song and send it to us by July 30th! Many will enter, a select few will win!

Entries will be judged by the Lessonface staff on the following criteria: originality/creativity (30%), tone (25%), technique (15%), time (15%), and delivery (15%).  

We are accepting entries now through July 30th. We will announce the winners August 14th. 

Please note:

  • The video should be 1-5 minutes long
  • All elements of the submitted video (including the song performed) must be original or in the public domain
  • The video should be of an unedited live performance
  • The video should be uploaded to your YouTube channel
  • Options for teachers will be subject to the teacher's schedule and availability
  • Students between the ages of 9-13 must have a parent or guardian submit the entry
  • Winners may opt to take lessons on a different instrument/skill than the one(s) demonstrated in the video
