Choosing the Right Photo & Video
Ensure your photo has curb appeal
- Photo boxes on Lessonface have landscape (horizontal) orientation so your photo should have a landscape orientation. Crop your photo to a 3x2 aspect ratio, or 560 X 340 pixels.
-
If you have one, use a professional photo and avoid blurry photos (this typically includes those taken with webcams or phones)
-
Look fun and encouraging to students (those pearly whites really can go a long way here!)
-
Avoid using group photos
-
Your face should be visible in the center of your profile photo
Check out your YouTube link
-
The first frame of your YouTube video will be visible on your profile. This should be something that is enticing for people to view.
-
It can be helpful for your video to exhibit your teaching experience instead of just your performance talent.
-
You should be in your video. A video that just shows a static image of a beautiful instrument or landscape, while nice, doesn’t help build the connection between student and teacher.
