Lalana Martin Rocks Joe’s Pub

LessonFace Voice Coach Lalana Martin Performs at Joe's Pub

Lalana Martin stopped performing regularly after she moved to New York to found the Vocal Workout Singing School, but she never left her stage presence behind. She put that presence to work Thursday night, Jan. 31, at New York City’s Joe’s Pub. Bringing her CD “Mood Swings” to life on stage and supplementing it with a take on Michael Jackson’s “Human Nature” that had the crowd singing along, Lalana showed the world-class talent that earned her a full scholarship to Berklee at age 16 and compelled legends Barry White and Patti LaBelle to bring her on tour with them.

Lalana has also performed as a supporting vocalist for Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, Donna Summer, and D’Angelo, sang and composed songs in English and Spanish, and toured the globe, enthralling audiences throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East, and South America. Lalana’s teaching abilities are equally impressive. She has trained Sean “P Diddy” Combs and members of his Diddy-Dirty Money team, Sean Garrett, Shae Fiol, and Dylan Jenet Collins, who sang at President Barack Obama’s first inauguration. Fortunately, Lalana doesn’t only work with stars. She helps singers of all abilities reach their potential. For those of you who didn’t have the chance to attend, here’s a short clip of Lalana performing her song “Gold,” from “Mood Swings.” Enjoy!
