Ragtime and Blues for Acoustic Guitar
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Students in this course will learn to play ragtime/blues on the acoustic guitar. We will take a close look at right hand finger-picking techniques, bass and melody counterpoint/accompaniment, and the musical the styles of Blind Blake, Elizabeth Cotten, Mississippi John Hurt, Reverend Gary Davis, etc.
ABOUT BEN "COPPERHEAD" LEE
Ben Lee aka Baby Copperhead is a musician based in Brooklyn, New York, who has been teaching guitar, banjo, and bass for over 20 years. He teaches many styles and all skill levels, and has toured professionally in Japan, Europe, and North America, and performed on countless recordings. He has performed with world-renowned tap dancer Michele Dorrance, DJ and producer Jace Clayton aka DJ/rupture, trumpeter Nate Wooley, avant-guitarist Eugene Chadbourne, and many other luminaries. Currently, he is a recording artist for the UK label, Tin Angel Records, and has a surf/spaghetti-western band called The Zolephants.
You may attend the course in-person, at the Lessonface studios at 451 West St., NYC, or online. Choose your preference when you enroll. All enrolled students will be able to watch the series' recordings.

LEVEL
HOW IT WORKS
This class will be taught from the Lessonface studio in the West Village of Manhattan to an in-studio and live online audience. Students are able to attend by physically coming into the studio OR by joining over the Lessonface high performing video conference platform.
