f you have ever looked at a knitting machine and wondered… what even is that? But then found yourself intrigued by the possibility of knitting a sweater in a day - this class is for you. I will be showing you the parts of a knitting machine, how knitting machine works, basic techniques to get you started: a couple of cast ons, plain knitting, increases and decreases, yarn overs (eyelets), and a couple of ways to bind off.

What skills or knowledge do students need to take this workshop?
This class is for beginner machine knitters. You do not need to know anything about machine knitting or even have a machine to take this class. A machine and yarn will be provided for you.

Crystal Lawrence has been knitting since her Grannie taught her when she was 11. She has always been fascinated by the next challenge around the corner and when her friend and owner of a LYS offered to sell her a knitting machine 12 years ago she was hooked. Almost everything she has learned for MK has come from experimentation, hand knitting know-how, and vintage books.
