The Kitchener Stitch

About The Kitchener Stitch

Do you look up instructions for grafting using the Kitchener Stitch every time you have to work it? Learn this essential skill, then memorize it with economized moves while training your eyes and fingers to work together. We’ll graft stockinette stitch first, proceed to garter stitch, and learn how to diagnose and fix mistakes. Imagine being able to take a phone call while grafting. You can do it! Realize this is not a class for grafting in any pattern, but rather it is aimed at understanding the basics and memorizing the moves.

• Yarn: Knitter’s choice of worsted or aran weight wool–nothing splitty nor fuzzy.
• Needles: Circular needles or straight needles appropriate for your yarn–whatever makes a nice fabric.
