About Singing Skills for Adult Non-Classical Singers
Did you know your voice is a choice, and your favorite singers are not "born with it" and you are not "stuck with" the voice you think you have? Let's explore the possibilities!
Perfect class for beginners, experienced singers and everything in between! All contemporary styles welcome such as Pop, Rock, Metal, RnB, Jazz, Folk, Americana, Country, Musical Theatre, and Singer/Songwriter.
Each week there will be a short lecture with demonstrations on a specific topic such as terminology, anatomy, etc., followed by mini lessons for individual volunteers so the class can learn together.
Accompany yourself on your instrument, or use a background like karaoke. I will clarify some of the differences between contemporary and classical singing techniques, including raspy sounds and other stylistic elements the pros are doing. We'll work on range, low and high notes, register control, tone, breathing and projection for mic singing, how to do a warm-up, and maybe bust a few myths along the way. Be prepared to laugh and enjoy yourself!
This class is limited to 15 students.

The class will meet for six weekly 90-min live online sessions on Wednesdays at 3 pm ET | 12 pm PT | 19:00 UTC on the schedule below. The first session is on September 8.

How It Works
