Translating Hand Knitting to MK patterns

About Translating Hand Knitting to MK patterns

Have you ever looked at a beautiful hand knit pattern and wished you could translate it to machine knitting? Same! But I do it all the time, and I will show you how to know which hand knit patterns will easily transfer to the machine. In this class you will be given a hand knitting pattern and we will go over the symbols and how to convert that information so you get the same knitting structure on the machine. I will also share with you some tips on how to search Ravelry for hand knit patterns that are more machine friendly.

You will be provided the pattern in class.

While this class will focus on the translation of the knitting process we will not discuss how to convert gauge.

This class is suitable for any gauge of knitting machine (standard, mid, or chunky), We will not be using the ribber.

Please be on the lookout for future messages from me requesting information about your machine.

The capacity for this class is 10 students.

Crystal Lawrence

Crystal Lawrence has been knitting since her Grannie taught her when she was 11. She has always been fascinated by the next challenge around the corner and when her friend and owner of a LYS offered to sell her a knitting machine 12 years ago she was hooked. Almost everything she has learned for MK has come from experimentation, hand knitting know-how, and vintage books.
