The Art of Plying: From Basic Foundations to Beautiful Yarns

About The Art of Plying: From Basic Foundations to Beautiful Yarns

Are you a new or self-taught spinner curious about plying? Dive into how it can elevate your yarn game in this workshop led by Alanna Wilcox. Moving from "How do I do this?" to "I've got this!" is our goal. Alanna will demystify the basics of plying, explaining why it's crucial and how it enhances both the look and functionality of your yarns.

The journey begins with Alanna demonstrating everything from the basics of plying, including the tools you'll need, to advanced techniques that will refine the construction of your handspun yarn. She'll guide you through different plying methods, sharing when and why to use them, and their effects on your finished yarn. Practice exercises are available for you to try alongside Alanna or on your own time, rewatching the workshop for extra guidance. This flexible approach ensures you can learn in the way that suits you best. By the end of our session, you won’t just understand plying; you'll have the confidence to experiment and enhance your spinning creativity.
