About Beginner Piano for Adults with Beverly Cashin
This is a class that starts from the very beginning! You don't need any previous piano experience to join this class.
We'll use familiar songs, plus my own original teaching songs, to develop the basic piano skills.
We use an assisted form of notation, which makes it easier to start playing songs. With a little bit of practice throughout the week, you'll soon have lots of songs to play for your family and friends.
In each class, we'll practice some exercises and learn a few songs. Then we'll break into smaller groups where we can get some individual questions answered.
This class is limited to 25 students.
Class Goals
- - Learning the names of all the while notes, and some of the black notes
- - Learning the finger numbers, and exercising the fingers to develop flexibility
- - Counting the rhythm, with simple examples

How It Works
Students can connect to the online platform using a tablet or computer with reliable internet. To actively participate online students also need a webcam with microphone. The class is covered by the Lessonface Guarantee.

Hello! I've been playing and teaching for several decades, and I can show you how to have fun with the piano. If you're a beginner, I can take you right from step one and have you playing familiar songs by the 1st or 2nd lesson. If you already have some experience, I can add to it.

Beverly did a great job! She sent a link to pdfs ahead of time that we use in the class. She taught us how to play songs by talking and demonstrating it. We were able to see her keyboard, which helped immensely. We had breakout sessions for she helped us individually as well. Great class!

I love this class. I'm pretty good at imitating rhythms when I hear them but I need to learn how to work out a rhythm from a score when I haven't heard the piece played out loud and this class exposes me to lots of rhythms.

I'm pretty good at imitating rhythms if I hear them out loud but I'm not as good at figuring out complex rhythms on paper scores alone so this class is important to me for that reason.
