About Beginning Tablet Weaving

Learn the basics of an ancient, intricate, and wonderfully portable form of weaving! Tablet weaving (also known as "card weaving") dates back at least to the Iron Age, and is practiced in cultures around the world. Participants will learn to create a simple warp that is capable of many beautiful variations, and will leave with everything they need to continue weaving at home.

The capacity for this class is 15 students.

Your class registration fee includes materials with a value of $20 consisting of:

* Tablet Weaving kit (including tablets) to keep
* Materials for basic in-class project (bracelet / bookmark)
* Course booklet

No homework prior to class.

Bethany Hebbard

Gardening host Bethany Joy Hebbard is a knitter, sewist, and dyer. Her husband is a permaculture-trained farmer, and together they keep a large garden on their suburban homestead in Jamestown, North Carolina. Bethany has a strong love of local fibers and dye traditions, and teaches classes on cultivating dye plants, fresh-leaf indigo, and more.
