About Improvisation Techniques with Natalie Cressman
This workshop will provide a chance to work on the different elements of improvisation, beginning with interpreting chord changes and developing the ear to recognize harmonic movement in the typical chord structures we encounter in jazz. We will talk about the importance of melody, various parameters we can use in a solo to provide contrast to build energy, as well as practice habits that will contribute to more confidence, creativity, and freedom of expression when improvising.
