Indian Rhythm with Samir Chatterjee
This one session Indian rhythm class with the highly esteemed tabla player and educator Samir Chatterjee is open to all ages, and will start at a beginner level. The class is open to all percussionists and musicians interested in using Indian rhythms in their music.
ABOUT SAMIR CHATTERJEE
Samir Chatterjee is a virtuoso Tabla player from Kolkata, India, now based in the New York City area. He travels widely across the world throughout the year performing in numerous festivals as a soloist or with other outstanding musicians from both Indian and western musical traditions. He teaches at the Manhattan School of Music, the New School, and now is offering online seminars on Lessonface. His compositions are widely acclaimed as well as his writings. He has authored 'A Study of Tabla' and 'Music of India,' has published over 60 albums, and is founder and president of Chhandayan. Chhandayan is a non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Indian music, dance and culture.

The live class will occur from 4-4:45 pm ET on Wednesday, October 18, 2017.
HOW IT WORKS
This class will be taught from the Lessonface Classroom in the West Village of Manhattan to an in-studio and live online audience. Students are able to attend by physically coming into the studio OR by joining over the Lessonface high performing video conference platform.
