Mastering the English Language Arts Regents Exam
This course is a review and prep course for students preparing to take the Regents English Language Arts Exam. The course will be collaborative and engaging, providing the tools and analytical skills needed to be successful on the exam. Students will closely examine the various questions and passages found in this section and set personal and measurable goals for success.
The course will cover the following three areas of the Regents ELA exam:
- Reading Comprehension
- Argument (Essay Portion)
- Text-Analysis Response
ABOUT THE TEACHER JULIE STAVROPOULOS
Julie has worked as a certified high school English educator in NYC for the last four years and has extensive experience in Regents ELA Exam prep. She has also been a Regents Exam rater for the state of New York. She received her Bachelor's degree in English Literature and Rhetoric from Binghamton University and a Master's from Hunter College in Adolescent English Education. She has expertise in preparing students to become college-ready and master the skills necessary to succeed in major assessments. In the past, she was an academic advisor with the City University of New York. She has a deep understanding of the obstacles, knowledge, resources, skills, and plans that are needed to succeed in college.
ENROLLMENT PROCEDURE
Enroll in Mastering the English Language Arts Regents Exam by clicking the "Add to Cart" button above and completing the sign-up process. The class is covered by the Lessonface Guarantee.
WHEN
The class will be held over six live sessions on Tuesdays from 7-8pm ET starting November 5 and ending December 12.
HOW IT WORKS
Students can connect to the online platform using a tablet or computer with reliable internet. To actively participate online students also need a webcam with a microphone. The live sessions are recorded so that all enrolled students can review the class sessions following the live class. Class recordings will be available for viewing within 48 hours of the live class. This live online class is capped at 25 students.
