About Needle Felt (2-D) Wool Slippers

Needle felt onto wool slippers with mushrooms and other fungi. Mushroom/ fungi images will be given as a guide for you to use, as well as all materials needed to complete this workshop. The Wool slippers will be wet felted, green and have leather soles. You are authorized to bring your own wool slippers instead of using the ones provided. Students must submit for slipper sizes at least 45 days before the start date. Later registered students will need to bring their own slippers in order to participate.

The capacity for this class is 10 students.


Materials, Equipment, and Supplies the Student Must Bring to Class

Students should bring any comfort items they use when needle felting, i.e. felting tools, needles, finger guards. Water Bottle and snacks.

Your class registration fee includes materials with a value of $100 consisting of:

Mutli-Needle Felting Tool
4 Felting Needles
Mushroom/ Fungi Image Guides
Dyed Wool
Felting Foam Mat
Finishing Tools/ Spray


Pre-class Homework

Students will need to provide wool slipper size at least 45 days before start date. Every student will be provided the same color (green) slipper.

Advanced beginner (some experience)

What skills or knowledge do students need to take this workshop?
Students must have prior needle felting experience. Basic needle felting knowledge will not be taught in this class. Hand/eye coordination is very important as needle felting onto wool slippers is tough on the individual and tough on the tools/ needles. Students should be aware of the muscle fatigue experienced when needle felting.

Sheena O'Shea

Sheena O'Shea is an Army Veteran turned fiber artist after the first stab into wool. Sheena has been a long time lover of Art, graduating from UNC - Pembroke with a Bachelors in Studio Art, with a concentration in digital art. Sheena's mother in law introduced her to needle felting in 2023 and soon after they decided to partner up and start selling their work.
