Sewing for Fiber Artists

About Sewing for Fiber Artists

Pull that sewing machine out of the closet and learn fun, unique ways to use your handspun yarns in all sorts of clothing and home projects. We’ll learn different ways to use that sewing machine, such as free-motion work, as well as using specialty presser feet. Did you know you can create fabric (and elegant closures, too!) with your handspun art yarn without weaving or knitting? We’ll also explore various methods of seaming handwoven fabrics and other methods unique to sewing hand woven items. And NEW this year are even more edge-finishing techniques for handwoven fabrics! Join in this exciting new workshop and learn to enhance your (already beautiful!) fiber art with your sewing machine!

What will students learn:
Students will learn seaming techniques for hand woven fabrics, free motion techniques, couching, and sewing yarns.
