Scrappy Stuff – Textured Marble Fidget Toy

About Scrappy Stuff – Textured Marble Fidget Toy

Learn or practice skills with this functional toy. Textured Marble Fidget Toy is a handheld toy using DK, worsted, or bulky weight yarn and a glass marble. Learn a tubular cast on, double knitting, and a tubular bind off in this functional toy! Students will work the toy from start to finish, creating a small keepsake packed with skills. This is a great way to use a bit of leftover yarn from a special project, and these toys make great gifts for kids and adults alike. You’ll leave this class with a functional toy and confidence in a few skills you might use for a larger project. Win win!

This Fiber Arts Seminar is offered as part of the Maryland Sheep and Wool Winterfest and is limited to 20 students.

Shana Cohen

Shana Cohen is an architect with experience teaching technical and design studio courses in several higher education venues. She brings her experience of geometry and writing design syllabi to my pattern writing. Her size-inclusive patterns are mostly modular designs, and mostly garter stitch! In pattern writing, she makes legible directions that allow the knitter to customize their own work in the process. She pays attention to maximizing yardage and adaptability of styling in my work. Throughout all of her endeavors, Shana loves connecting with individuals, helping them to become the best version of themselves. She aims to write her patterns in a way to foster this creative expression for the knitter. Shana hopes you will have fun playing with color and style when working her patterns.
