About A Survey of Supported Spindles
This class will cover key features of supported spindles, and how those features impact the spindle’s performance while in use. Length and weight; flicking tip size; spinning tip materials; and how the spindle interacts with the bowl will be discussed. The class will have a “show and tell” format, where TJ (aka the Peahen) will use her spindle and bowl collection to illustrate the various features a spinner might wish to shop for (or avoid) when buying a supported spindle. It will provide information about spindles for students to learn before buying even their first one. You will not be spinning on a spindle in this class.
