About Crochet an Alpaca : An Intermediate Crochet Class
Ready to take your existing crochet skills and take them into a third dimension? Ready to learn how single crochet, half-double crochet and double crochet stitches can be worked Amigurumi style to create your own little Alfie the Alpaca? In this class, you’ll only have to sew on the ears and tail. You’ll learn the technique of adding the legs to the body as you make the body so your alpaca will stand nice and straight every time. You should leave class with one complete alpaca and have enough supplies left to make one or two more.
The capacity for this class is 9 students.
Materials, Equipment, and Supplies the Student Must Bring to Class
scissors and whatever visual assistive devices you would use to work with sewing thread
Materials Kit and Kit Description
Your class registration fee includes a materials kit with a value of $25 which includes:
1 Clover Amour size C/2.75mm crochet hook
1 skein Premier Just Yarn Tweed (enough yarn to make 2-3 alpacas)
1 sandwich bag of fiber fill stuffing (should be enough to make 2-3 alpacas)
4 4/5mm mm glass beads (enough for 2 alpacas)
1 yarn-sized sewing needle
1 beading sewing needle
black sewing thread
Pre-class Homework
Prior to class, students should practice magic rings and making flat circles with single crochet.

This is a beginning Amigurumi class. It is NOT a beginning crochet class. To be successful and complete the project, you must come to class knowing how to do the following, without assistance:
single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, and use a magic ring
