Knitting Machine Cables

About Knitting Machine Cables

Cables give any garment a lovely visual and tactile aesthetic. There are a few rules to knitting cables on a machine, but once you know what they are you can create most designs you see in hand knitted garments. In this class we will go over those basic rules and practice multiple cable designs. MK cables are a manual manipulation of the fabric on the machine so you will get a lot of time working a 1x1 and 2x2 series of cables. We will also discuss and practice how to add manual ribbing to your knitting if you want to further accentuate the cable.

Please be on the lookout for future messages from me requesting information about your machine.

The capacity for this class is 10 students.

Crystal Lawrence

Crystal Lawrence

Crystal Lawrence has been knitting since her Grannie taught her when she was 11. She has always been fascinated by the next challenge around the corner and when her friend and owner of a LYS offered to sell her a knitting machine 12 years ago she was hooked. Almost everything she has learned for MK has come from experimentation, hand knitting know-how, and vintage books.
