How does it sound when you let your voice fly free through improvisation? In this class, you’ll step into the world of vocal jazz, discovering its unique styles and learning from the sounds of legends like Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.

Together, we’ll:
• Build a foundation in what vocal jazz is and how it works.
• Explore different vocal jazz styles with fun, practical exercises.
• Try improvisation in a supportive environment, because improvising is not only possible, it’s fun!

Come ready to experiment, listen, and sing;this is your chance to taste the freedom and creativity of vocal jazz.

The capacity for this class is 25 students.

Class Goals

Goal 1. Understand the foundations of vocal jazz by exploring its history, styles, and iconic singers such as Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.
Goal 2. Develop vocal technique and confidence through guided jazz vocal exercises and practice.
Goal 3. Experience improvisation as a creative tool to explore personal expression and the joy of jazz singing.
