About Beginner Piano for Adults & Teens
This course is designed to be accessible for complete beginners. You’ll learn how to develop proper technique and effective practice habits from day one. The fundamentals covered in this course will prepare you for further study in classical, pop, and other styles as you continue your piano journey.
Learning piano can be fun, easy, and engaging when things are explained clearly. My approach is simple and step-by-step, helping you understand both piano basics and essential music theory in a relaxed and enjoyable way.
By the end of the course, you’ll have a set of basic exercises and will be able to play several short, easy pieces from the piano repertoire.
Class Goals
1. Whether you’re a complete beginner or returning to piano, start playing right away.
2. Learn the basics in a simple way, including correct posture, hand position, and technique.
3. Develop a consistent practice routine (at least 10 minutes, 3 times per week).
4. Understand the fundamentals of music: note values, rhythm, intervals, and chords.
5. Learn how to practice effectively and approach a new song step by step.
6. Learn how to stay relaxed and avoid tension and common playing-related injuries.
