About Complete Beginner Clarinet Blast Off!
Are you playing clarinet in band this school year? Are you ready to blast off into the world of clarinet playing? Then I would like to welcome you aboard! This class is for clarinet players who are complete beginners and are looking to take off with their playing. I’ll make sure you are setup for success by ensuring your playing fundamentals are in place, all while teaching them to you in a simple and easy way. We’ll cover everything from how to put your clarinet together to how to play your first song. Grab your clarinet and reeds, and let’s get ready for blast off!
Materials
- Clarinet
- Reeds- I recommend getting a box of the Rico Orange Box, 1.5 Strength
The capacity for this class is 10 students.
Class Goals
- 1- Prepare for a successful launch! Intro to proper posture, air use, articulation, embouchure, and making your first sound.
- 2- Getting to know your equipment! Putting your clarinet together and taking your clarinet apart, reeds, and playing your first note.
- 3- It’s note time! Learn your first 5 notes and exercises to develop your sound.
- 4- OMG, here we go! Your first song on the clarinet!
- 5- Checking in and planning your next destination! Review of all that was learned and recommended next steps in your clarinet playing journey.
