Using the availability module

The availability module might take a little explaining to get the hang of. We're working on making it a bit simpler, but for now, here is how you can input and delete lessons in your availability calendar.

Inputting Time

Depending on your style of teaching, you probably want to set up your schedule so that you have a few options for a recurring lesson within your calendar. It's our assessment that starting with a handful of representative times, and then adding more as students request other availability or as your current times get booked is probably the way to go.

Here's the way to input recurring times. 

You have to do them one time-of-day at a time, and then go to the bottom of the page and click "save." There's a button there for "add another item," but it's mainly aspirational. (Perhaps it will work in the future.)

So, if I want to schedule a lesson option for 9 am on Tuesdays and Fridays for the next six months (today's date being Sept 12, 2012), I would input this:

Make sure your start date is on the day of the week that you're trying to schedule (or you'll find you've scheduled a session on that day as well), and that it's in the future.

Deleting Times

If you want to delete times, you'll get a glimpse into the future of the availability input module:

1. Go to your profile page, and click the 'book lessons' button.



2. Choose the time on your calendar you would like to remove.



3. In the pop-up, you will see "delete this slot" and "delete all slots". If you'd like to clear certain times on the calendar (as you might if you had an appointment conflict coming up, or realized you have a wedding that weekend) click "delete this slot." If you want to clear the entire calendar to start again, click "delete all slots."
