Designing a Twill Dish Towel Pattern in Fiberworks for Windows
About Designing a Twill Dish Towel Pattern in Fiberworks for Windows
In this workshop, you will be guided step by step to design a twill dish towel pattern using Fiberworks for Windows.
To build a solid pattern, we will cover the key technical elements: sett (ends per inch), reed selection, and the fundamentals of the twill progression (twill wheel). A structured design method will be introduced to help you move from idea to a functional weaving draft.
Practical use of Fiberworks tools will be demonstrated throughout the session to support the design process.
The workshop is suitable both for beginners who want to understand the basics and for experienced weavers looking to refine their design approach.
Maryse will demonstrate Fiberworks for Windows. Examples will include 4-shaft, 8-shaft, and more, with a focus on controlling float length to produce durable and functional dish towels.
To reinforce learning, participants will be encouraged to develop their own designs as homework.
The capacity for this class is 25 students.
