Decorative Bookbinding

Decorative Bookbinding with Anne Murray

This is a demonstration. The teacher will be showing how to create exposed stitch bindings so that the stitching is the decorative part of the book. The class will begin with simple styles of pamphlet stitches and move toward more complex stitching patterns. Learn to vary the Coptic stitch with color, style, and direction. Learn to write a name in longstitch. Consider variations in the Romanesque binding.

The capacity for this class is 80 students. This class is presented in collaboration with the John C. Campbell Folk School.
