About Hop in to Felting!

Hop in this class to felt a cute whimsical frog. Students will learn the basics of felting and a bit of simple armature. Each frog will hold something of your choice, such as a knitting project, or fishing pole etc. If you want to make the knitting or crocheting frog, you must be able to knit/crochet and bring the project to class. Other items for the frog to hold will be available. All materials are included including tiny knitting needles or a tiny drop spindle.

The capacity for this class is 12 students.

Materials Fee and Description

Your class registration fee includes materials with a value of $20 consisting of:

All supplies needed to complete the project and printed instructions, tiny faux knitting needles crochet hook or spindle, and a 6x4 foam and set of starter needles that students may keep. Other small props are available.


Pre-class Homework

1. Knitting Frog-To make the knitting piece, use size 0 or 1 needles and knit a simple piece about 1 ½“ by 2 (or however long you want to make it) in garter stitch.
2. Crocheting Frog-Using a small hook, maybe B or C, and crochet a piece approximately 1 ½“ wide and at least 2” long.

Beth Collier has been spinning and felting for over 20 years. Beth does a variety of fiber arts including felting, spinning and bobbin lace. Her business, The Little Shop of Fibers sells Kromski Products, felting supplies, bobbin lace supplies and Shetland wool and yarn. When not spinning or felting she enjoys gardening and her grandchildren. thelittleshopoffibers@gmail.
