Experience the joy of the Appalachian Mountain Dulcimer with Mandy! We’ll tune up to (DAD) and play songs the very first class. You will learn to read an easy form of sheet music that will open up thousands of songs to you. Topics to be covered include - tuning, strumming, single notes, melodies, chords, old-time songs, a brief history of the mountain dulcimer, and much more. So grab your dulcimer and get ready for the fun!
This small group class is presented in collaboration with John C. Campbell Folk School and Lessonface. Students are invited to attend an optional Orientation and Closing Ceremony to connect with various online Folk School classes.

How It Works

You can log into your Lessonface dashboard to access class materials, communicate with your instructor, join the live Zoom session, and access the class recordings and chat transcript afterward.
Refund Policy: To cancel an enrollment or request a refund, contact [email protected]. For 30+ days before, we refund 95%. Between 30 and 5 days, receive a 75% refund. No refunds within 5 days of class start date. Materials kit fees are non-refundable.

Mandy Tyner
Mandy has been teaching banjo since 2012, and mountain dulcimer since 2018. She teaches online, in-person locally, and at festivals around the United States. She has been an endorsed artist for Folkcraft Instruments since 2021.
